Today (October 24, 2024), Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, advisor to the Prime Minister and spokesman for the Flood, Storm and Landslide Relief Operation Center (FSOC), revealed that the amount of rain falling above the Chao Phraya Dam in the areas of Uthai Thani, Kamphaeng Phet and Suphan Buri provinces has caused the amount of water above the Chao Phraya Dam to increase to 2,116 cubic meters per second. The FSOC has recently increased the water discharge to 1,600 cubic meters per second, which will result in the 11 provinces downstream of the Chao Phraya Dam having water levels rise by approximately 30-50 centimeters. The Royal Irrigation Department has issued a warning to 11 provinces in the Chao Phraya River Basin and related agencies to closely monitor the situation.
